Apply to participate in the Best Student Paper/Poster Symposium!

Best Student Oral Presentation

  1. Begin a submission by March 16th to the Best Student Papers and Posters (Symposium) and follow the instructions.
  2. After you submit your standard abstract, you will receive a confirmation letter with further instructions to submit an extended abstract AND a letter of support (email) from your advisor to the symposium chair indicating that the study is at a stage appropriate for consideration for this award. Only student research projects at or near completion will be considered for the Best Student Oral Presentation Award.
  3. Extended abstract examples and other helpful information is available at the Education Section
  4. Extended abstracts and letters of support are due by March 23rd.

 

Best Student Poster Presentation

  1. Begin a submission by March 16th to the Best Student Papers and Posters (Symposium) and follow the instructions.
  2. After you submit your standard abstract, you will receive a confirmation letter with further instructions to submit a letter of support (email) from your advisor to the symposium chair indicating that the study includes data analysis representing either ongoing or completed work. No extended abstract is required to be considered for the Best Student Poster Presentation.
  3. Letters of support are due by March 23rd.

The Best Student Paper Symposium will be held Monday morning and afternoon and the Best Student Poster Symposium will be held on Monday evening. Award recipients will be announced at the AFS Business Meeting on Wednesday. Attendance at the AFS Business Meeting Required!
